Ingredients:
2/3 of a large loaf of Challah bread cubed
Cinnamon
Golden raisins (approximately 11/2 - 2 cups)
3 small to medium pears cored and sliced thin
1 1/2 cups chopped hazelnuts
8 eggs
2 cups half n half
1/2 cup or more
Vanilla
Directions:
Layer half the bread in ceramic baking dish and sprinkle lightly with cinnamon. Arrange half the sliced pears over bread and sprinkle with half the nuts and raisins. Pour half the liquid mixture over and layer again with the rest of the ingredients.
Bake for 50 mins in steam bath where water comes halfway up sides at 350 degrees. Serve with hard sauce or vanilla ice cream.
